      About AIP

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) was launched the year of 2017. Owing to the program’s effectiveness, it was made permanent in 2022 and given the new name Atlantic Immigration Program ( AIP). For qualified foreign workers and international graduates from a Canadian university who want to live and work in one of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces, the Atlantic Immigration Program is a route to permanent residence. The program allows employers to hire skilled candidates for positions they cannot fill locally.

The federal government and the governments of the four Atlantic Provinces have been welcoming thousands of immigrants and their families to the Atlantic area of Eastern Canada through this initiative since the program was launched.

      Participating Provinces

      • New Brunswick
      • Newfoundland and Labrador
      • Nova Scotia
      • Prince Edward Island

      Eligibility Criteria:

      • Minimum 1 year full-time Work Experience, in the past three years
      • You will be required to take a language proficiency (IELTS minimum CLB 5)
      • Educational requirements include a Canadian high school diploma or an educational credential assessment (ECA)
      • Get the job offer from Designated Employer from any of the Atlantic Provinces

How Does The Pilot Program Work?

      • When a designated employer finds someone who fits their requirements for employment and the program, that employer needs to provide them with a job offer. Employers are not required to get a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) in this program.
      • After the candidate has accepted the position, the employer will link the candidate with a specified settlement service provider for a needs assessment and create a settlement plan. Employers will also help with the long-term integration process of the new immigrants and their families, if necessary, to help them achieve the objectives in their plan for settlement after they are in Canada.
      • Employers who need to fill an opening quickly can apply for an indefinite work permit so that the applicant and their family can travel to Canada in the shortest time possible. To get this permit to work, applicants require the following:
        • An offer of employment that is valid;
        • Endorsement Letter
        • An obligation to apply for permanent residency within 90 days after the application for temporary work permits.

      • IELTS 4.5 bands at the second stage
