      Overview

      British Columbia (BC) is the westernmost province, located between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains. The economy of British Columbia is based on a large natural resource industry, with a concentration on forestry and mining. Its natural environment is considered as one of the most beautiful in Canada with enormous woodlands and a distinct coastal weather. Columbia is leading the nation in financial growth and maintaining its reliance on business immigration to meet labour market demand.

      The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is an immigration programme handled jointly by the Province of British Columbia and Government of Canada under the “Canada-British Columbia Immigration Agreement” (CBCIA). British Columbia appoints individuals through the BC-PNP program to assist meet the province’s specific labour market demands and support economic growth.

      Strategic priorities and initiatives are designed to assure that the BC PNP has been most effectively run so that it maintains aligned with the Stronger BC Economic Plan while preserving programme integrity and encouraging eligible candidates for success. The Province will continue to monitor and assess the BC PNP to determine that it is connected with development initiatives that aim to develop better, better community resilience.

      British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program which is administered by the province of British Columbia and is an economic immigration pathway which allows skilled and in-demand foreign workers and experienced business entrepreneurs, to meet the needs of labor market, with their dependent family members to apply for permanent residence as a provincial Nominee through Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). This program is divided into various different pathways through which candidates can apply based on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) code with specific skill level, job or international student status.

      Immigration Streams

      Foreign immigrants who have a business idea to implement and are willing to invest in any proposed business or ready to buy an established business in British Columbia are eligible to apply for Permanent residence in Canada through this stream under BC PNP. They have three major categories running under this stream:

      Entrepreneur Immigration Category
      Senior managers or business owners who are planning to invest funds into a proposed business which is running or operating in British Columbia are eligible to apply for permanent residence through this category.

      Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot
      Foreign companies or entrepreneurs who are planning to begin a new unique business in a small community in British Columbia, are eligible to apply for permanent residence through British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program under this new pilot category.

      Strategic Projects Category
      Foreign companies or entrepreneurs can apply for permanent residence though this category of Entrepreneur Immigration program to set up their business operation in British Columbia with upto five foreign managerial, professional or technical staff members

      2. Express Entry British Columbia

      This is one of the fastest ways to get eligible to apply for permanent residence and immigrate to British Columbia federal economic immigration program. Candidates with valid full-time intermediate job offer received from an employer in British Columbia with at least two years relevant training and work experience are eligible to apply for this program, once after receiving the nomination, it is connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry system to apply for permanent residency Visa. To qualify, applicant must have submitted their Express Entry Profile and are into the pool of candidates along with Express Entry number. In addition, should have received a Job Seeker Validation Code from the IRCC Express Entry system, which shows their eligibility to meet the minimum criteria from any of the express entry programs, i.e. Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program or Canadian Experience Class.

      Skilled Worker Category
      International skilled workers with relevant work experience along with post-secondary education and must have a valid full-time employment or job offer in a skilled occupation from a recognized employer in British Columbia can apply for permanent residence through this sub category of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.

      Health Care Professional Category
      Candidates with relevant work experience and valid job offers, ie.e. at least any on e from eleven qualifyinig health occupation from a recognized employer in British Columbia, in physicians, nurses, psychiatric nurses or allied health professionals are eligible to apply under this sub category

      International Graduate Category
      Candidates who have graduated from a recognized institution, college or University in the last three years in Canada and have an approved job offer from an entitled employer in British Columbia are eligible to apply for BC PNP through this sub category.

      Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category
      International Skilled Workers who are working in entry-level or semi-skilled positions in tourism/hospitality, food processing, or long-haul trucking sector, and must be living and working in the Northeast Development Region of British Columbia are eligible to apply for permanent residency through this program.

      Entrepreneur Immigration

      Foreign immigrants who have a business idea to implement and are willing to invest in any proposed business or ready to buy an established business in British Columbia are eligible to apply for Permanent residence in Canada through this stream under BC PNP.
